Why Fight Club?
Why Friendship Club?
The story of HLPFC began in 2020 in a garage on a quiet hill in Highland Park. The idea started when the world stopped, for those months and years. No more big gyms, no more crowds. It forced thoughtful choice about who we would spend our time with. And our space. Who was in our circle? Who was in our club? It began small— with a few friends. And then a few more. We trained the art of jiu jitsu together just for the love of it. The pressure on the mats - the “fight”- helped relieve the pressure the world was feeling off the mats. In a time when we all needed relief, we found what helped most was “fight” and friendship. Today it’s a different world and a different time. But both are still as important as ever. It’s time to invite you into our club. For “fights.” And for friendship.
